Global Talk “Animation and new audiovisual trends”

(Santo Domingo, January 28, 2023). Octavio Llano, Mexican animator and screenwriter, starred in the XV Santo Domingo Global Film Festival (FCGSD), the GlobalTalk “Animation and new audiovisual trends.” It took place on Saturday, January 28 at the Cinema Palace.

Llano, who has worked at Paramount, Disney and Netflix, highlighted that the first step for anyone who wants to enter the world of animation is to know which style they want to dedicate themselves to. He pointed out that “even if you are not the best, if you work every day, they will see you.”

He also highlighted the importance of animation in the industry and indicated that all styles are good and if they are combined it is possible to create interesting things.

The activity was moderated by Sarah Valenzuela, FCGSD educational coordinator. It was attended by producers, actors, scriptwriters and amateur animators.

Llano motivated those who want to be entertainers to have discipline, to define their style, to be tenacious and not to give up in the face of the “no” that they will encounter along the way.
