“The Runner” had a special presentation at the FCGSD
The XV edition of the Santo Domingo Global Film Festival had a screening
special of the movie “The runner”, with the participation of the audience of the
former president of the Republic and president of Funglode, Dr. Leonel Fernández
(Santo Domingo, Tuesday, January 24, 2023). The film The runner It was specially screened within the framework of the 15th edition of the Santo Domingo Global Film Festival (FCGSD). Cameron Douglas and Edouard Philipponnat, part of the cast of this thriller, They interacted with the attendees prior to the screening.
The audience, which met at the Ágora Mall Cinema Palace, included the former president of the Republic and president of Funglode, Dr. Leonel Fernández, and a special delegation from Hogar Crea Dominicano.
Directed by Michelle Danner, the film tells the story of Aiden, a troubled teenager, who after being arrested for drug possession, is forced by the police to go undercover and risk his life to take down a dangerous drug dealer.
In the conversation, Douglas and Philipponnat explained how they got involved in the project and managed to fit into a team that was already formed.
They referred to the power of cinema to tell stories and connect with audiences. Both actors stressed that the greatest privilege is for the public to see their films.
