O personagem de idade avançada esconde vários potes no armário da cozinha com objetos que exalam cheiros, remetendo às suas lembranças de criança, da esposa, de sentimentos e momentos marcantes de sua vida. Sua filha não sabe e não compreende o que o senhor está fazendo, achando que seu pai está ficando senil. É um filme sobre memória, envelhecimento e a relação conflituosa entre pai e filha. Adaptado do conto «O Armário Interior» de João Mendes Neto, produzido no curso de escrita criativa do progama UCS Sênior, Campus Hortênsias, Canela, RS, Brasil, provoca reflexões sobre a necessidade de compreensão da velhice e a importância das lembranças para uma pessoa de idade. Feito em stopmotion com bonecos de feltro e cenários realistas, mesclado com aquarelas digitais a partir de fotografias antigas.
An elderly character hides several jars in the kitchen cupboard containing objects that emit scents, evoking memories of his childhood, his wife, and emotionally significant moments of his life. His daughter is unaware of this and cannot understand what he is doing, believing her father is becoming senile. It is a film about memory, aging, and the conflicted relationship between father and daughter. Adapted from the short story «The Inner Cupboard» by João Mendes Neto, produced during the creative writing course of the UCS Sênior program at the Hortênsias Campus, in Canela, RS, Brazil, the film invites reflection on the need to understand ageing and the importance of memories for the elderly person. Created in stop-motion using felt dolls and realistic sets, the film blends this technique with digital watercolors based on old photographs.
