ВАСИЛИЙ работает в устаревшем офисе совсем один, но компенсирует это разговорами с несуществующими коллегами у кофе-аппарата и кулера. Начальник ОЛЕГ ПЕТРОВИЧ поддерживает связь сообщениями, интересуясь не столько проектом Василия, сколько поливом цветов в офисе. Неожиданно Олег Петрович является в офис самолично, но ведет себя странно и заявляет, что уже 3 года как не работает. К удивлению Василия, его босса заменили на ИИ по программе «Цифровой начальник». Олег Петрович не без горечи констатирует, что начальник на работе – это самое главное, поэтому с них и начали. А Василия зачем-то оставили… Василий понимает, что его оставили ради важного проекта, которым он занимается. Значит, он избранный, и логично попросить повышения. Василия не смущает, что в рамках своего проекта он лишь меняет кавычки в тексте. Он идет в кабинет начальника и обращается напрямую к ИИ. Василий хочет получить ответ, для чего именно он был избран и оставлен. Но начальник лишь просит его полить цветы.
VASILIY works alone in an outdated office, but makes up for the solitude by chatting with imaginary colleagues at the coffee machine and water cooler. His boss, OLEG PETROVICH, keeps in touch via messages – though he seems more concerned with whether the office plants have been watered than with Vasiliy’s actual project. Unexpectedly, Oleg Petrovich shows up at the office in person—but acts strangely and reveals that he hasn’t worked there for the past three years. To Vasiliy’s surprise, his boss was replaced by an AI under the “Digital Manager” program. With a touch of bitterness, Oleg Petrovich remarks that «a manager is the most important part of a workplace – so naturally, they started with us». As for why Vasiliy was left behind, no one knows… Vasiliy convinces himself that he was kept on for a crucial project. That must mean he’s special – clearly the chosen one – so asking for a promotion makes perfect sense. He isn’t bothered by the fact that his only task on the project is changing quotation marks in documents. He marches into the manager’s office and speaks directly to the AI. Vasiliy wants a real answer: why exactly was he chosen and left behind? But the AI simply responds: «Please water the plants».
