Aurora grows up believing in the promise of ideal love. For her, her first love embodies the prince who will protect her from the world and give meaning to her life. Clinging to this fantasy, she overlooks the signs of control, manipulation, and emotional harm hidden beneath his savior façade. Gradually, the relationship strips her of her voice, confidence, and sense of self.
