Esther, a pregnant Dominican immigrant, arrives clandestinely in Puerto Rico, immediately becoming a target of the authorities. Forced to flee in order to protect herself and her unborn child, she crosses paths with Arcadio, a man with intellectual limitations whose kindness and generosity stand in contrast to the hostility surrounding them. As they journey together across the island, an unexpected bond forms, offering moments of safety, dignity, and human connection.
