Mary Leonard, founder and director of the film program at the University of Puerto Rico and co-founder of Cineforo Caribe, shared with students of the Mauricio Báez Club Arts Education Center a dose of cinema created by students from various parts of the Caribbean.

The activity was divided into two parts. The first consisted of 2 and a half hours of short film screening. The works presented were: Deja vu, by Perla Reyes, from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez; The Machazo, by Alejandro Moss & Juliano Kunert, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM); Beyond the Scale, by Abigail Whittingham of the University of the West Indies-Mona.

As well Mother's Love, by Julissa Sofía Martínez of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras; Undressed Daydreams, by Josiah Haymes of the University of the West Indies-Barbados; Nnever ever, by Violeta Ampudia from the International Film and TV School; I think a lot about the photo I didn't take, by Samuel Caraballo from the Altos de Chavón School of Design, and The Casseus Piece, by Camilo Mejía from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo.

The second part was a dialogue between all the directors of the short films with the students and teachers present in the room. It was moderated by Dunja Fehimović, co-founder and co-host of Cineforo Caribe, who participated via Zoom.

The attendees, linked by the same passion, debated the importance of Cineforo Caribe in carrying out this type of training events and in promoting and strengthening Caribbean cinema.
