“On December 31, 1920, Juan Mariné, one of the most important directors of photography in Spanish cinema, was born in Barcelona. The outbreak of the Civil War necessarily turns his life into a journey as eventful as it is intense. His determined character and his ability to handle the camera allow him to take part and also capture for posterity some of the decisive events and characters of the most transcendental episode in the history of the 102th century in Spain. Today, incombustible at XNUMX years old, his testimony is still capable of illuminating our collective memory. “This biopic is a tribute to his life and work and to Spanish cinema and its filmmakers.”

Maria Luisa Pujol Canals

Born in Barcelona, ​​she has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is a member of the Catalan Cinema Academy, the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and the European Film Academy. She has worked in radio, television (TVE) and specialized entertainment press, cinema, television, communication and advertising (Showpress, Clave Profesional, Cineinforme, Tele Informe, El Cinefilm and El Publicista). She was director of the professional magazine L'Espectacle from 2001 to 2004. She has also participated in audiovisual works of routes in the world, through the One World Five Continents brand, and in the production and making of documentaries with Jorge S. Bonet, such as “The new Marco Polo route” (1998), “The Asian Caravan's Road”, presented at the MIPDOC in Cannes in 2000; or “Image Hunters in the Belle Époque”, which accompanied the book “The Lumière Chemist” (2008), which was presented in the auditorium of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain in 2008. Since the year From 1998 to 2018, he has made routes through the five continents, plus Antarctica, visiting 102 countries. She has a large film and photographic archive of all of them. She is the founding Patron and director of the Aula de Cine Fundación Josep M. Queraltó Collection (2010), an entity that claims the technical part of the seventh art, she has collaborated in the edition of several books of the Foundation, among them “Illusion and movement: the shadows to the film” (2012), “L'experiència màgica del cinema” (2013) and has written “A journey through the magic of cinema” published by Film-Historia of the University of Barcelona. In 2015 she was executive producer, with Jorge S. Bonet, of the documentary film “JMQ, in search of a dream”, directed by Antoni Verdaguer, and produced by the Foundation.
