Synopsis

Director's Statement

“It seemed important to me to show violence. The story is much more violent than the one I show. I thought it was important to let the ears be cut off because otherwise the story would be sweetened and it would seem like it wasn't as violent. “If we were going to go through this colonization process, we had to show the greatest amount of violence.”

Felipe Gálvez Haberle

Felipe Gálvez Haberle (Santiago, 1983) is a Chilean film director and editor. He graduated from the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He has directed short films, highlighting Silencio en la sala, which received the award for best short film at BAFICI in 2009, and I am looking at you from here, premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2011. In 2018 he premiered the short film Rapaz in La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival.
